Ag Show

Wednesday September 5th
Today the guys in the family, which amounts to 2, headed off early for a 3 hour drive to an Agricultural Show. The girls stayed at home and cooked, cleaned, tidied, rearranged and minded little ones. There is always something to do and each day was made productive and every effort made to keep everyone happy.

Big Sis happily shared her pencils with her little sister. Little One wanted to keep up with what her Big Sis was doing and so after she learnt not to put pencils in her mouth but on the paper all was well.

This is an example of what they fellows saw today. Huge machinery to work the grounds of the huge paddocks in WA.

Ipad a hit

Tuesday 4th September

From the day we arrived Hubby's Ipad had been a hit with the oldest grand daughter. But little 'munchkin' could not miss out on a turn and so Poppi had to set it up for her too. She was tickled pink and sat contented for a while.

Surroundings

Monday September 3rd

Last night I was in bed early and woke early. Because of the time difference it takes a few days to try and get the body into some sort of routine. As the weather is warmer here than at home, instantly there are less blankets on the bed, and not so many layers of clothes to wear during the day with open sandles on the feet.

This is a view from the back verandah. Wide open spaces everywhere you look.

(thanks Hubby for this pic)

It was great today to spend the day at home, plan things for the next 3 weeks and do life together in very different surroundings from home.

Father's Day

Sunday September 2nd

This is where we stayed last night and our room was called 'Ruby'. When we left here.....

...in our comfortable hire car, we drove through York. It was a shame we could not stay longer for a better look but there will be another time I am sure.

We called into Wave Rock to check it out. Having seen photos previously from family, we had to check it out ourselves. Amazing!!!

Out my window. Lots of canola to see, bright yellow ground cover for miles.

Hearts were getting exicited amongst the 3 of us as we neared the new abode of our family. As we drove up their beautiful drive we 'honked' the horn. No sooner had we stopped the car and our eldest grand daugther ran out the door to jump up and greet me with warm hugs and kisses. Hubby was overwhelmed to finally meet our youngest grand daughter for the first time.

Father's Day was made extra special with a lovely meal prepared for us of roast meat and vegies.

Back on board blogging

Hi to all my readers, I am blogging again. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing with you our trip to Western Australia. We have been home a week and Daughter No. 2 (D2) arrived in WA yesterday. She will be spending October there with the family. Meanwhile, those of us at home have been slowly getting back into a routine. So here goes.....

Saturday September 1

The alarm went off at 5.30 to get the day underway. D2 commenced work at 7am and the remainder of us had to be out the drive by 7.30. Our plane flew out at 10am from Devonport with Qantus. Devonport airport has been undergoing an upgrade and this trip we were scanned before boarding the plane which meant that when we arrived in Melbourne we could enter the airport without being scanned.

At the other end.

Had to have a good coffee before we headed to the gate for Perth

We arrived in Perth on time and collected our hire car. We travelled to York to stay the night which took us just over an hour to get there. On the way we had a quick bite for dinner and bought some supplies for breakfast. We were in bed early after a very long day.

HIDDEN

Hello to all my readers, I am going into hiding over the next month. I will be away from tomorrow morning to go see my wonderful family in WA. To enable me to have a good break and devoted attention to family I decided to let this blog be hidden for the month of September. I will be back on board in October.
Keep smiling....Dot

CARD

I decided today to take a photo of a loyalty card that I only get to use when I am out of the state of Tasmania. As I am heading off in TWO SLEEPS it is kept in the front of my wallet.

Cannot hang around here too long, lots to do....Dot
