Made by me

Who cries over spilt milk? I nearly did.
I was making my morning coffee and had heated the milk and sat it on top of the the coffee machine. As I was continuing it edged its way off the machine and over the side. Disapointed sounds came out of my mouth but no one came running, so I got in and cleaned it up. It made its way into everything but at least the spot was clean again and there was enough milk left in the jug to make my drink and be on my way.

A healthy breakfast for hubby. There was only one egg left so I fried a tomato, added slightly wilted spinach, avocado and sprinkled with black pepper. It was a hit.

With the cold weather about soup recipes are a happening thing. I made up some Vegetable Chilli soup and accompanied it with corn muffins. The soup is loaded with red and green capsicum, carrot, kidney beans and of course, chilli. I need to put less chilli in next time.

Be happy and enjoy life where you are ... Dot

Outside

Good morning.

I think winter has come early this year as the weather has turned wild. The clothes are being hung in the shed and transferred to be aired inside and if you want to venture out for any reason you check the radar. I have packed away my summer clothes and put out the warmer ones.

We made a spicy lentil soup which called for silverbeet. It is growing well in my patch. We served the soup with a dollop of yogurt and freshly squeezed lemon. Oh, and a bread roll, mmm!

This cute shrub at the front of the house is still displaying a little of autumn colour.

We have driven up the coast a few times of late and this walkway is lit up beautifully.

Anyhow, I have been on a good walk this morning and the quinoa porridge has been simmering on the stove for a while now, so I am off to enjoy.

Enjoy your day ... Dot :-)

D3 home

Hi everyone. Sorry for the late post. I had a few appointments today and the day has got away on me.

When we arrived home from our road trip we had our youngest daughter with us. And we know she is around as you are about to see.

She found hubby's Nerf gun and wanted to pull a prank on him. She waited 'out of sight' for him to pull in the drive.

I let her know he was nearly to the door. (I could hardly take the photos trying not to giggle)

And she let it rip!!!

Poppi was ducking and made his way to the corner of the kitchen ...

...and stayed there till all the pellets were fired. I don't think there were any left in the gun; they were all over the floor.

We went for a lovely long walk on the beach and my Instagram prompt for the day was 'air'. D3 offered to help me out.

Mother's Day has come and gone. We were invited down to D2's little home and served a yummy hot meal. She made Lemon Delicious for dessert. I was spoilt.

I hope all my 'mum' readers had a special weekend with your family.

Keep smiling ... Dot :-)

Road Trip

So the road trip was set up to help family relocate their cars from Cairns to Adelaide filled with their belongings.

We set out on Sunday morning and called into Airlie Beach.

It was a beautiful day and we stopped there for lunch.

Coconut trees.

The things you get stuck behind while travelling. These tyres were massive and there were 4 on the truck.

In Rock Hampton we stayed a night in a new resort and it was reasonably priced. Braham cattle were everywhere.

While driving at 40kph up a winding track we pulled over to take some scenic shots.

Beautiful skies were such a delight most of the way.

We did a lot of travelling and at the same time had a wonderful time together.

Sunday: Ayr
Monday: Rock Hampton
Tuesday: Miles
Wednesday: Coonabarabran
Thursday: Hay
Friday: Adelaide
Saturday: home

See you next week when you pop by again. Enjoy life ... Dot

Cairns

Hello everyone. I am home again in Tassie and enjoying the beautiful weather here. I have been to Cairns to help D3 and her hubby pack up there apartment to enable them to relocate.

D3 had received a nice flower arrangement when she had her last day at work. When I turned up it was on the way to the bin but one beautiful flower was still on show. Gorgeous colour!

The fridge was full of leftovers that I was pulled in to help eat. She is a wonderful cook and makes recipes with lots of flavor. This was no nice I had it twice. Lamb Rogan Josh served with rice, fresh coriander and poppadoms.

D2 treated us both with an hour facial. Divine!

After the removalists had left we got into the cleaning which we thought we would get done in 2 hours. Double that. It was spotless and we were happy. (this window could not be reached outside so it had to be cleaned from the inside and with nothing to stand on; where there is a will there is a way)

By the end of the week my nails were a mess so I treated myself to Shellac nails.

We stayed a couple of nights at Northern Beaches. D3 and I went for a nice walk along the boulevard and on the way back ...

... down came the rain. A group of us waited under the shelter for at least 20 mins then it was ok to head back to our quarters.

We collected Poppi from the airport and that evening we went out to Thai for dinner.

The meal was beautifully presented and very tasty.

Pop by next week when I will take you on the road.

It's good to be back... Dot

Thank You

D2 accompanied me to an Autumn garden party over the weekend and the local nursery blessed us with a colourful plant along with our purchases. (I wonder if she has planted hers yet)

Thank you hubby for fixing my iron. It had stopped working in the middle of the last lot of ironing. He had a little fiddle with it and away she went.

Hubby joined me for a walk on Sunday morning. It was a great start to a wonderful day.

I am thankful that we have a beautiful river to walk around and it is different all the time.

Thank you for popping by. I won't be here for a couple of weeks; in the meantime be thankful for all the little things. They are everywhere.

... Dot

ps. Today I plan to get outside and plant that plant. It is sitting at the back door to remind me.
