I Love ...

...going for my early morning walk. It's not that early as I head out the door as hubby leaves for work. I don't have to rush about it and get a lot done before I do. But I really enjoy getting out in the fresh air and loosen up any muscles that need a daily nudge.

... coffee with cream. On this particular day we had a home inspection happening at 'ours' so I hung out at my mother-in-laws. And she has a coffee machine, so it was not long and I was enjoying the delights there.

...rain. When you have not had it for a while I miss it. This downpour was heavy but gentle at the same time as we are very close to Autumn and the rains are easy to endure.

...making butter. I find myself making a batch once a week. It never ceases to amaze me how the cream turns in just a few minutes into a delicious condiment. I use the food processor!!!

...hot lunch. When the weather turned a little colder it was easy to sit down to a hot lunch. MMM..warm the tummy.

...games at meal time. One of us will usually set a game up before an another has sat down. It is a lot of fun and enjoy a few games each day.

Until next week ... love life ...Dot :-)

Begins with T

Good morning Tuesday. Looks like we are going to have a sunny day but the first temperature I was hit with when I got out of bed was 10 degrees

This is finished but sad to say the orange vest I was going to make myself is now crossed off the list. I started it and the pattern was not written correctly and so it was very confusing to continue. I was disappointed but I got to work promptly and found another pattern I like. Now for the yarn, oh dear!!!

Some rhubarb made its way into my kitchen, so I found up the Low Carb recipe I had. It was Tart but smothered with cream was very Tasty.

New recipe for us this week. A high protein Tart. It was made up of 1kg fresh riccotta, heaps of Parmesan, 1 bag of spinach, eggs and topped with thin strips of sweet potato smothered in oil and baked for over an hour. I think next time I need a larger dish. I cut it into 9 serves and so we have it to tuck into over the next few days. It is delicious and only needs to be combined with a salad or hot mash.

It is Tidy up week this week as we have an inspection tomorrow. The windows are getting washed tonight and I have yet to run the vacuum through from one end to the other.

Until next time, be good ... Dot :-)

TO DO

Hello and welcome to another week in the life of Dot's Tidbits. One day soon I need to transplant the healthy bunch of young kale seedlings to a spot in the garden. Alongside these is also and great bunch of lettuce seedlings. The raspberry canes are looking like they have had their day and so I will remove them and refill their place.

Last month, as I find myself doing at the beginning of a new year, I made myself a 'to do' list. It certainly keeps me accountable and off to a good start. I managed to tick most of it off. I lost the pattern for the elephant I wanted to sew and I am still working on knitting the size 10 stripy jumper. I will post a pic when it is done.

And this month, the new list. I have family visiting in a couple of weeks time so I have not overloaded it.

I really need to start this vest for myself. I have a dress I like to wear in Autumn and this will team nicely with it.

This collection of sock yarn was added to extremely well last year that the basket is overflowing. I have been asked for socks so I really need to get cracking and get some made. I have even made a start on one as you can see. Goodness, I will have to put it at the end of the bed!

All the best to you and yours, pop by next week ... Dot
