Easter Weekend

Hello and welcome back. We have the Easter weekend coming up and that allows us to have a few days off, so we are heading away for several days to be with family.

I am getting excited but need to get to bed extra early the next few nights as we have a very early start to catch a plane.

I have been making some Schnoods to keep my stocks up to sell. The weather is turning cooler and the beanies, mittens etc are coming out.

This morning the ducks were out of the water and finding lots to eat on the grass.

And this was the cloud formation in the night sky last night. Gorgeous.

Have a great Easter. I will be back on board next month ... Dot

In my garden

This year I planted some Japanese Spinach and we have been enjoying in salads, soups and casseroles. It is a rich green foliage and I am sure we get the benefit from it.

I love to add herbs to my cooking and we always seem to have some mint, parsley, thyme etc. It adds yummy flavour to meals.

I did plant some tomatoes over summer and they have come and gone. This tomato plant came up from previous seed in the garden ... bonus!!!

There are always a few potatoes to be found somewhere in the garden bed. They keep coming up and we can enjoy a few now and then.

And I have planted some Marigold plants throughout the garden bed to try and keep the pests away.

Keep well and happy ... Dot

Around Here

Hello and welcome back. I guess you have realised that monthly on this blog I put together an 'around here' post. There is always something happening in our life, weekends find us fixing or repairing something, and because I keep a diary/planner I plan each day to keep things working smoothly.

I have written some letters to my grand-girls. They should get them any day now. I love sitting down to colour and put these together.

These Peanut Butter cookies were a new recipe. I just had to combine peanut butter, an egg and some sugar, roll into balls, press with a fork and bake. Very easy.

I went a step further and made some Vanilla cream and sandwiched them together.

Every few days I grind fresh coffee.

MMMM!!!

Recently hubby fixed the pipes that connect to the heater. They had worn away and it would have added to the cost to run it efficiently. We should see some improvement now.

Weekly I like to include a fish meal in our diet. I picked up a packet of pre-cooked salmon, combined it with some steamed vegetables and smothered it with cheese sauce. My, it was delicious and quick to whip up.

Wow, a pelican on the river.

See you next time ... Dot :-)
