Garden/Make

Hello and welcome back. Over the weekend I finally had some time in the garden. I swept the paths as the birds has made quite a mess and I took care of the weeding. I also planted some seedlings of spring onion, wombok cabbage and some broad beans.

The family love to have dessert following dinner in the evening, so this week I made a raspberry cheesecake.

This is a batch of Stuffed Jalapenos I whipped up for lunch one day. Delicious for a change.

We were given some yams which I steamed and had with a ham steak and mash. Very nice; we wanted seconds, all gone!!

Yesterday I made a big pot of Creamy Cauliflower soup and it will last us a few days. Today I made a Keto Muffin to go with the soup that was filled with ham, mozzarella cheese and mayo.

The weather has turned windy today, but we had had some lovely mild days and I have been enjoying them

That's me for today, be good ... Dot

Creative

Hello and welcome to another week in the life of Dot's tidbits.

This week, I made the dough I usually make into cinnamon sticks into rounds and wrapped them around a piece of apple. They were delicious for dessert warmed in the microwave and smothered in runny cream.

It was my MIL's turn to be creative last weekend. Because it was my birthday she asked us up for dinner on the day and cooked a load of yummy vegetables and served them with roast lamb and gravy. What more could I want to celebrate a special day? Gladly received and enjoyed. Thanks mum!

And this is me, 1 year older.

Last night I commenced a little jumper which will have some stripes incorporated in it. Gorgeous tones of blue/grey.

On my walk this morning the tide was a little out, but the sky is clear. I came home and put some washing out as there are showers forecast later in the day.

Go girl ... Dot :-)

Mothers Day

Hello everyone. I hope and trust all the mothers had a wonderful day on Sunday. I was treated to a crepe topped with mascarpone cheese and rhubarb & raspberry compote.

I finished this 'rose dream' cowl by the end of the day and received this lovely notepad and pen along with a gift voucher and also the latest Better Homes knitting and crochet mag. So I spent a good hour or so reading that mag and planning...as you do!!

Later in the day on Mothers Day, we took dinner around to mums and spent the evening there. She pulled her knitting out and I finished off that cowl and we watched tv. It was nice tucked inside in the warm together around a hot meal.

Flying Ducks....whoohoo!!!

Have a wonderful week ... Dot :-)

I Enjoy ...

Good morning. And there it is. A work in progress making use of the lettuce crisper until we need it again. Too cold for lettuce!

I enjoy baking good food on a regular basis. These are repeats that we love, Ricotta Tart and Toasted Granola.

When I am baking up a storm I like to blast the air around me with good music.

In the post is a letter for my pen pal. I enjoy a spot of colouring in and try to incorporate that in once a month by writing a letter to a special someone.

As the days are shorter now and getting more so, I have some reading to enjoy when I sit in my comfortable chair, along with a yarn project.

I really do enjoy getting out for a walk each morning. Today there was a boat taking advantage of the beautiful day and going out to fish. The sun is out, there is washing on the line, who could ask for more!

This goes without saying ... life is enjoyed with a gooooood coffee in the mix. Long black with cream thanks!

Have a wonderful week. Pop by next week to see what's happening!

Off to check the pumpkin baking which I can smell, mmm ... Dot

Something Good

Good morning and welcome to the first day of a new month and the last month of a season.

It's sunny today but cool. These days we need to rug up a little and we can enjoy the outside.

The mornings are chilly and the ducks let us know they think so too. They huddle out of the breeze, most with their heads down, and take a rest. Cute!!!

I usually have some knitting I am working on sitting near the leg of the kitchen table. When it is meal time, out come the cards and knitting and we eat, play and have fun.
Call it what you like, multitasking, using time wisely I reckon!! It also helps you to eat slower.

Another one done. This beanie is knitted in a bright cobalt colour.

That's all for now. Things have been cruising along but now that May is here I need to motivate myself to do more. See you next time and ...

...have a great week ... Dot
