Something Colourful

Hello and welcome to another day and week. I know this beautiful pic is not that colourful but on my walk today the tide was right in. Lovely.

I love to sit at the table with a bit of colour to enjoy while you hang out eating etc. Autumn is just around the corner so I am keen to change the table setting to suit the season.

I have received my gift/order from a secret pal. A bag full of colourful milk cotton. It is very soft and 25 different colours. What to do?

I finished this cowl.

We have been collecting and enjoying fresh tomatoes from our garden. They are delicious and I have been making sauces and today want to make soup with them.

Until next week ... Dot

Around here

To greet me one morning, a beautiful sky with pink tones.

Ants have made an appearance every couple of days for over a week now. I find myself chasing them with the Ant Rid and here it made me laugh. They were running along the top of the cooktop splashback and as soon I sat some bait out their bums were up in the air having a feed. Goodness me!!!

Snacks kept in the fridge for when the nibbles are required with that cuppa tea or coffee.

This one is easy as. Just soften a block of cream cheese, add a little sweetener and grated lemon or fresh ginger. Place in dollops in the container you are going to keep them in and place them in the fridge while you melt the chocolate. Over a small saucepan of simmering water, place a pyrex jug of broken chocolate. Once melted dip your cheese blobs in and place a pecan on top as you go. Use a fork to do this and any leftover chocolate can be covered and placed in the fridge for use next time.

I was returning the yoghurt to the fridge and dropped it didn't I!!! What a mess it made. It seemed to go a long way and place bits in difficult places. All clean now.

Out of town in the surrounding country areas there have been fires. The heavens opened up and buckets of rain including a good dose of hail have been poured out and I doubt there would be any sign of fire left. Praise God.

And for the next week we have set up camp at the local Devil Country Muster. Lots of folk have moved in and there will be more to come. The program starts tonight and I am really looking forward to it.

Have a great week, pop by soon ... Dot :-)

Travel bits and bobs

When you are travelling in a motor home we have a routine of checking through to be 'travel-ready'. I sit in my seat and hubby follows behind and does the final check.

Sometimes, it didn't happen often, but we would get down the road a tad and there would be a 'noise' happening. Before turning around to take a look we guess what it sounds like and within a few seconds the culprit is determined and we need to pull over (which is not always convenient) and fix the problem and start again.

It certainly is fun and games.

Most days over the Christmas break were quite warm, so in the morning I made black coffees, put them in the fridge and we made them into iced coffees during the afternoon.

Well received!!!

Every road trip we have been on it is amazing what oversize 'things' are on the road.

It was proved handy to carry extra water and fuel tanks in our tow vehicle to use when it was too long to the next stop.

And when you realise that you left a very important tool home, you make do with a replacement of sorts. In this case I left the coffee tamper home and in the interim we used a tablet container which worked a treat.

When you cross the Nullabor there are not too many corners and none on the 90 mile straight.

There is always a 'whoooohaaa' when we have finally finished the straight and see the corner.

Its so much fun hanging out with family. Oh for the next adventure!!!

Until next week, be happy ... Dot :-)
