Prepare

Good afternoon my friends and family. The internet was down this morning but was up again at midday and I have finally sat down to the computer. I have had to tilt the blind as the room has warmed up nicely and I am set with my cuppa and away we go.

Hubby and I have completed a few projects this week.

Because of the beautiful Autumn weather, hubby painted the cement under the front veranda and apron, including the front door step. This is the first time it has been painted and we are pleased how it came up.

I was asked to make a batch of Anzac biscuits to take to church on Sunday. They served them with hot drinks following the service. Hubby and I enjoyed a couple at home with our weekend coffee. mmm, its been a while since I made them.

Once up a time, D2 gave me a bag of wool to make her some items. One of projects she was happy for me to make was a cushion. It was fun to make up the granny squares. In the front there, I made up some dishcloths from Lily Sugar 'n Creme this week too. I knitted the squares and then crocheted around the edges with a contrasting variegated colour and worked in a loop on the corner to enable it to be hung if required.

This is the back of the cushion. The colours do not show up well in the photo here. They are actually really bright fluro colours.

In this coming week I need to prepare to have a few important things done. They include:

- budget
- G2 gift (her birthday is in June)
-craft day (D2 wants to get together for Saturday)

Lots to do, but lots of fun .... have a great week: Dot

This happened

A room has been made available to me in the basement and I have started to turn it into my studio. I have moved most of my sewing and wool supplies down there but it is a work in progress. There is oodles of space and I have lots of ideas how to set it up to be a productive working environment. Exciting!!!

I spent some time in my vegi patch this week. I did a lot of tidying up which involved trimming the raspberries and weeding. Then I prepared a few squares in my 'square foot garden' and planted some seeds (lettuce, radish, spring onions, kale, and spinach).

During this week I sat at my laptop and followed through a pattern for the following:

Awwh...isn't he cute? D2 and D3 have put their orders in for their colour preferences. I did not add the wings for this one but I may do that next time. Also, as this was a practice run, next time I will use a larger hook. But still, I am tickled with him, or her.

Our morning temperatures have dropped to near 0. It makes for sunny day though and it is so nice to have the sun streaming through the windows.

bye for now.... Dot

Anniversary

Welcome to another week. Hubby and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary over the weekend. We spent the weekend doing a little around the home, going for a drive, ordering-in dinner and D2 treated us to Sunday lunch.

She made deep fried Camembert and served it with homemade onion jam. My goodness, it was delicious. I definitely want it again sometime.

Hubby and I decided we needed a new clock and so this our gift for each other. It is 43cm wide so you can't miss it.

I posted these face scrubbies to my April IG swap. I also popped in some homemade soap along with some easter eggs.

It's a glorious day here today, so I must get out and enjoy it .....Dot

Easter

Hello. I hope all my readers have had some 'time out' over Easter and had a break from the norm. Hubby and I have had 5 days to enjoy together and they are nearly over. We have worked a lot around the home but also taken time for rest and relaxation.

The weather had been beautiful so hubby was able to put the railing back together and finish it with another coat of paint.

We climbed 'The Nut' at Stanley.

Made it to the top. There were lots of tourists about and the cable car was used just as much as the steep walking track.

We decided to walk around the top.

This is the highest point. Most of our family are out there. Awwwhh!!!

On Sunday night, my mother-in-law invited us over for dinner along with hubby's brother and his family. We had a wonderful time especially learning a new game that involved lots of laughter all round. We were nearly rolling on the floor, it was so much fun.

Hubby and I are going for a drive soon. Its a beautiful day....Dot
